Gem Underwriting was established in 2023 to underwrite Employers, Public & Products liability in the UK market. The aim of Gem is to provide competitive terms and coverage alongside a quick and efficient service to national retail and wholesale brokers.
The team have over 60 years of combined experience in the liability market. This experience enables us to respond to any enquiries in a professional, adroit and effective manner.

Glenn Marshall
Chief Underwriting Officer
Glenn began his career at Michael Payne Syndicate 386 @ Lloyds in 1986. Since then, Glenn has held a variety of senior roles in other Lloyd’s liability Syndicates and MGA’s. Glenn established Gem Underwriting to be able to offer brokers a service that is not only, efficient and competitive, but one the team can be very proud of.
Kelly Mitchell
Assistant Underwriter
Kelly has been a colleague of Glenn’s for almost 20 years. Kelly progressed from underwriting assistant at Brit in 2006 to assistant liability underwriter in 2014. Kelly has strong relationships with the London market wholesale brokers and will be an invaluable member of our team.
Chloe Marshall
Assistant Underwriter
Chloe has over 10 years’ experience in the London liability Insurance market in both underwriting and broking. Chloe has skills in underwriting and administration and will be a great asset to the team in its infancy and beyond, as she develops as an underwriter.
